Sand Excavation and Conveying System

MCI delivered a complete solution for a sand excavation project, including two fully integrated conveying lines stretching over 12 km from the excavation area to the dumping site.

Our scope covered the entire process; from feasibility study, electrical and equipment planning, to the delivery and commissioning of two Bucket Wheel Excavators along with belt wagons, hoppers, and cable reeler cars feeding into the spreading systems.

The goal of the project was to build a mountain in the desert. This posed a unique engineering challenge; developing a reliable procedure to height-shift the spreader in coordination with the bench conveyor system.

MCI was responsible for all disciplines, including engineering, procurement, quality assurance, installation, and commissioning. Beyond project delivery, MCI also trained operating and maintenance personnel and provided on-site operational support and planning for more than two years after commissioning.

As the project involved establishing a completely new mining operation from scratch, detailed and coordinated planning was essential. MCI carried out the entire electrical design and mining engineering for the client; both plants are now successfully operational and managed by MCI.
